All I can say is thank goodness it is Friday! All the kids out the door to school and it is suddenly very quiet in my house right. Granted this peace and quiet will be short lived, but it is a very welcome part of the day.

Well I should really be getting the remainder of the housework done and then head of to Tesco (local supermarket) and get some shopping done before the weekend. But really all I want to do is sit with a cup of tea and play FB games or do some work in Photoshop.

I still have to step on the Wii Fit and track my progress. I am determined to shift this extra weight I have been carrying around over the last two years! It is just not funny anymore. I am sick of being stuck wearing joggers. (sweat pants) I have a wardrobe full of fantastic clothes that I just cannot get into anymore. There is no way I am going to start buying bigger clothes, then I would never have the motivation to lose anything.

I also bought the Zumba fitness system which looks so much fun. I am hoping that I will get time later today to get out the dvd’s and have some fun with it. I will let you know how that works out.

See my main problem with my weight gain started about 2 years after I had my youngest son. My life got ever more busy and hectic, this is mostly my fault as I put more and more work on myself without realising that there is only 24 hours in one day. Also not eating properly and eating the wrong things made my weight gain slowly creep up. It wasn’t until I stepped on the Wii Fit my hubby had bought me that I realised, OMG I have put on 4 stone! For you folks in the US that is 56lbs, now for someone like myself at only 5 foot 2 inches that is alot of extra weight to be carrying about. Especially when just two years ago I only weighed 112lbs. It is so easy to not take care of yourself and put everything else first. Although I am getting much better at remembering to eat when I am suppose too. I have also cut out all high fat, high sugar foods like chocolate and potato chips. I have also switched over to a healthier bread, wholemeal cous cous and wholemeal rice. My body just doesn’t cope with empty carbs very well.

So I have a goal…..to lose 56lbs by the end of October this year. I know I can do it as I lost almost the same amount in 3 and half months the last time. However this time I really want to get more exercise.

Anyway I must go, won’t get anywhere sitting at this darn computer!

As most of you know, I am a regular Facebook & Twitter user. Recently I opened up my FB profile to lots of other Sims fans & Creators. What I have found is a wonderful group of people (some of whom I already knew from other sites). What is great is that we not only play FB games, but share links, advice and generally help out where possible. We have formed our own little community within a community.

The is also true of the Sims community…for the most part. There is, however a small faction within the community who’s sole purpose is to shit stir and cause trouble. I am aware that this goes on in all aspects of life and not just the internet…….however.

Start of rant-

Certain people are so brave that they feel free to comment, slag off and generally bad mouth people from the comfort of behind their computer screens! These people seem to forget that these are real people they are talking about, not just an avatar. What baffles me more is that these certain “do-gooders” feel free to judge anyone and anything that does not fit into there little box. More appalling is that they seem to forget about their own faults, which is some cases are far worse than the person or persons they are bad mouthing.

One thing that I have noticed as well. These seemingly “do-gooders” are total hypocrites! They say one thing is not acceptable and promptly turn about and do the same thing, but they would say “that’s different” Don’t even get me started on the fact they bad mouth certain creators and then in the next breath they say “I have always loved your stuff”. WTF, pick an opinion and stick with it!

I do believe though, if you have nothing nice to say you really shouldn’t say it at all.

I understand that this goes on in real life. But in a community, any community, not just the Sims. People are suppose to feel comfortable, enjoy themselves and participate without feeling judged.

Thankfully my recent interactions with many creators on Facebook has made me realise that for all it’s many faults the Sims community is still a wonderful community to be a part of.

End of rant-

How is it no matter how well you organise yourself, there is just never hours in the day to get everything done. Between housework and organising the children, there seems to be little left for anything else.

A very dear friend of mine (who also creates for the Sims) sent me a screenshot of a fantastic mesh she is working on. Since I am slowly coming out of my current creating funk, it gave me some inspiration……but as always the “time factor” reared it ugly head yet again.

One thing I have decided though, I am no longer going to create for the Sims 2. With the popularity of Sims 3 being ever more present and with the increasing list of projects I am working on, I think this is the one thing that has to go. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to be able to create for both Sims 2 and Sims 3. But if I did, I would never get any of my non-sims related projects finished.

SailfinSims advertising is going well through Facebook and through banner advertising. The site downloads are always busy and there is lots of visitors per day, however the forum is dead. There is just not enough members posting on it anymore, which is a shame. If it doesn’t pick up over the next few weeks, I have feeling that the forum part of SailfinSims will be gone. I would however still keep the discussion groups, blogs and the other site features. Unfortunately people have just as busy lives as the rest of us and grabbing a download is far quicker than stopping by the forum to say “Hi”. A sad fact I know.

HueshiftAddicts.com is a non-sim related project that has been on the back burner for the better part of 6 months, I really need to move it up the list and get at least the site design figured out as at the moment I am just using wordpress with a pre-made theme. I am not entirely sure if I will continue to use wordpress for hueshiftaddicts or will look at more of a CMS style site. Again, I suppose it comes down to how much time I can commit to the design, when the content is equally as important.

I have been building my skills quite a bit over the last several months with the use of the pen tool in photoshop & illustrator, which frankly has opened up so much more options when creating textures & patterns. I would love to be able progress my skills more in illustration, but that is something I will have to look at further down the line.

This is a chair I had started some time ago and didn’t quite get finished. I have a few new meshes coming out over the next few weeks, but this is one that I thought I would finish up and release. Frankly, there is only so many patterns one person should release it one week!
It is a fairly simple dining chair. I have kept the cost down, so it would be idea for starter sims. But has plenty CAS options that should keep you going. I hope! It has three recolorable parts, the main chair base and both cushions which can be recolored.

So, hence the reason for this blog. Not that I expect much people will read it, but you never know. I will just be happy to voice my opinions, views and latest ramblings on anyone to happens to read it.

So if by some freak accident you happen to come across this blog, welcome and hope you enjoy. I will be adding more stuff over the comings weeks.
